For my mitzvah project I’ve been volunteering at Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, an amazing nonprofit that is fully run by volunteers.
Starry Skies is an equine rescue. It mainly focuses on horses, but also has cows, donkeys, ducks, and goats. Starry Skies rescues these animals and gives them medical attention and the care they need until they can get adopted. They also have permanent residents that stay there for life, often because they have serious health conditions or experienced trauma.
At Starry Skies volunteers like me clean stalls, add new hay and savings, sweep, feed animals, and give the animals attention and love.
