To me, a mitzvah project is an act of charity and/or loving-kindness that is a vital part of becoming a Jewish adult. Community work and donating to good causes is a central idea in Judaism, and a mitzvah project helps solidify this value for b mitzvahs and also teaches a lesson of hard work and kindness.
For my mitzvah project, I will be volunteering at Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary in Maryland to help mistreated animals. Rosie’s mission is to rescue animals who have been abused, abandoned, or harmed in the past and help them to heal and live better lives. I believe that animals have rights just as much as humans do, so this project is very meaningful to me. I am really excited to work at Rosie’s!
